LGR: Parish & Town Council Briefing

Parish and town councillors and clerks are invited to a dedicated Local Government Reorganisation update and briefing at 6pm on Wednesday 9 September. The session will provide an update on the next phase of LGR and how parish and town councils will be engaged as plans for Gloucestershire’s new unitary council develop.

GALC AGM and Conference Rescheduled

GALC has taken the decision to reschedule its Annual Conference and AGM to early 2027. This will allow the Association's transition from GAPTC to GALC to be fully completed before members are asked to consider the first annual accounts under our new Company Limited by Guarantee governance arrangements. Details have been emailed to members and a new date will be announced shortly. We apologise for any inconvenience and thank our members for their understanding and continued support.

 
 

Civility & Respect

Put it at the heart of your council

NALC launches a video highlighting how parish and town councils across England are benefiting from signing up to the Civility and Respect Pledge. It features real-life examples from councils that have committed to creating positive, professional and inclusive working environments for councillors, clerks, council staff and residents. 
The Pledge was launched alongside county associations, One Voice Wales and the Society of Local Council Clerks, and encourages local councils to demonstrate their commitment to improving behaviour, strengthening relationships and fostering a culture where everyone is treated with dignity and respect.
