DESCRIPTION:<a href="https://www.gloucestershirealc.gov.uk/event/reconvened
 -extraordinary-general-meeting-egm-110">Reconvened Extraordinary General M
eeting (EGM)</a>\nReconvened EGM Firstly\, I would like to express my sinc
ere thanks to all councils who have already submitted their votes or atten
ded the recent EGM regarding the proposed transition of the Gloucestershir
e Association of Parish & Town Councils (GAPTC) to a Company Limited by Gu
arantee (CLG)\, and the accompanying proposal to change our name to the Gl
oucestershire Association of Local Councils (GALC). While there has been s
trong engagement\, the EGM held last week was not quorate. Under our const
itution\, we are now required to reconvene the EGM within one month\, with
a reduced quorum requirement of 15 member councils\, to enable a decision
to be made on these important matters. I am therefore giving formal notic
e that the Reconvened Extraordinary General Meeting. Note: Votes already s
ubmitted won't be counted until the Reconvened EGM. Please confirm your at
tendance as soon as possible by registering. Why This Matters: The propose
d move to a CLG structure\, alongside the name change to GALC\, reflects o
ur commitment to: • Enhancing legal and financial protections for counci
ls and members. • Improving governance\, transparency\, and accountabili
ty. • Securing long-term resilience and alignment with national standard
 s. • Continuing to provide high-quality support to Gloucestershire’s p
arish and town councils. Importantly\, the transition will not affect the
democratic role of member councils—your voice and guidance will remain a
t the heart of the Association’s work. We also remain a non-profit organ
isation\, ensuring all resources are reinvested in supporting our members.
We appreciate the input and engagement of councils to date and encourage
all councils to take part in finalising this important decision. If you re
quire further information or wish to discuss any aspect of this change\, p
